Student Experiences

Student leadership is an important part of life at Thornbury High School. We encourage students to take initiative, represent their peers and make a positive contribution to their school community.

Through leadership opportunities, students develop communication, collaboration, decision-making and organisational skills. Whether supporting school events, mentoring younger students or representing their peers, student leaders are encouraged to demonstrate responsibility, initiative and a commitment to improving school life

Camps, Excursions and International Experiences

Our camps and excursions program provides students with valuable opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, develop independence and build meaningful connections with their peers.

Students participate in a range of local, interstate and international experiences, including year-level camps, outdoor education and music camps. Opportunities to travel to destinations such as Central Australia, New Zealand and Italy allow students to experience different environments, develop cultural understanding and challenge themselves in new situations.

These experiences encourage students to build resilience, strengthen relationships and develop a broader understanding of the world.
