Literacy Program
A literacy support program has been developed over recent years.
It concentrates on year 7 and 8. If parental permission is granted
students participate in the program for three periods per week in
year 7, two periods a week in year 8 and one or two periods a week
in years 9 and 10. Students are withdrawn from their regular classes
to attend the literacy support program or are supported in their
class room by the aide.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
The school has an ESL program for about 25 students, with some
4 to 6 at each year level. Students qualify for ESL if they have
migrated from a non-English speaking country no more than seven
years ago. The ESL students’ countries of origin are varied.
Several teachers at the school are qualified to teach ESL. ESL students
in years 7 to 9 have their separate ESL classes when other students
are taking their LOTE subject, and are also in the regular year
level English classes. ESL students in years 10 to 12 have their
own ESL English classes.
Integration Program
The College has a integration program for students with disabilities
and impairments. There are 19 students in the program, supported
by a full-time integration coordinator and several integration aides.
Numeracy
The school provides access to Mathletics free of charge to all students
both at school and at home. This is a world renowned program which will assist
all students to improve their numeracy skills. Goto www.mathletics.com and enter your child’s password.
