Art
The Arts at Thornbury High School is a vital and growing area of the school. As a small school we are able to encourage and nurture the individual pursuits of students through the wide variety of arts subjects we offer. Their achievements are showcased within the school, in the community and interstate.
Students have the opportunity to participate in a vibrant Drama program, starting at Years 7 and 8, where it is a core subject. This is continued into Years 9 and 10 where it is in the Arts elective block. At VCE, Drama and Theatre Studies Units 3 and 4 are offered in alternate years allowing students to do both subjects.
Photography is a key component of the Arts curriculum, providing students with the opportunity to explore this diverse and creative medium. Photography is offered as an elective at both Year 9 and Year 10 levels and at VCE as StudioArts
Visual Art offers students the opportunity to explore a range of areas including: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, Computer Generated Art as well as video and installation work at senior levels.
