Careers and Pathways



Thornbury High School is proud to offer its students a range of pathways to higher education, including the VCE, VCAL, and MVP programs. By catering to student needs, and tailoring educational programs to the individual requirements of each student, Thornbury High has succeeding in achieving excellent results in both ATAR and tertiary placement for the past five years.

Students across all Year levels are provided with numerous opportunities to experience study in a variety of academic subjects, and are able to pursuit their individual interests through electives from Year 9.

Create Week, in-class workshop incursions, and Industry Day also provide students with invaluable opportunities to consider careers across a range of diverse areas, and through the experience of industry leaders, are able to discover alternate and non-traditional pathways to achieving career success.

Thornbury High School has a dedicated team of Careers Advisors on staff throughout the school year, providing students with information and expert advice through one-on-one counselling sessions. Careers’ staff also provide students with regular workshop, apprenticeship, and training opportunities outside of school via the student portal.
